Functional, beautiful pieces for the modern home
Brett Payne is a leading British silversmith with over twenty-five years experience. His approach to design combines the ancient technique of hot forging with original and contemporary ideas of form. Brett has won many awards for his craftsmanship and his work can be seen in numerous collections including the V&A, the Vintners’ Company, The Cutler’s company and The House of Lords.
We were tasked with re-creating his existing website and refreshing his branding in order to match the contemporary feel of his silverware. Part of the website design included adding a large portfolio section to effectively showcase his beautiful work. It was important that the site and portfolio be very user friendly and that each product line was clearly identifiable.



Within the design we wanted Brett’s work to be the centre of attention. He provided us with beautiful photography of his products and workshop, which gave us a starting point for our colour palettes. To contrast with the silver and golds within his pieces, we brought a pop of teal blue to the design and complemented it with warming tones of deep reds, golds and midnight blues.
We wanted to retain the feeling of luxury as Brett’s pieces are high end products, however we also wanted the site to have a personable feel. A unique selling points of the company is the impeccable customer service they provide. We wanted to bring the people behind the company into the spotlight, so included friendly ‘mood shots’ to add personality. Following the website design, we also refreshed Brett’s postcard designs and carried across the new colour scheme and typography to create brand consistency.
